The Shape of Water dẫn đầu đề cử BAFTA 2018

The Shape of Water hiện đang dẫn đầu với 12 đề cử Giải thưởng Điện ảnh Viện Hàn lâm Anh Quốc 2018 (BAFTA), trong đó có các giải quan trọng như Phim hay nhất, Nữ diễn viên chính xuất sắc nhất, Nữ diễn viên phụ xuất sắc nhất, Kịch bản gốc xuất sắc nhất, và Đạo diễn xuất sắc nhất. Guillermo del Toro gần đây đã thắng giải Quả Cầu Vàng Đạo diễn xuất sắc nhất với The Shape of Water.

Darkest Hour và Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri theo sát phía sau, cả hai đều đứng vị trí thứ nhì với 9 đề cử mỗi phim. Hai bộ phim trên cũng được đề cử cho Phim Anh nổi bật, bên cạnh The Death of Stalin, God’s Own Country, Lady Macbeth, và Paddington 2.

Ngạc nhiên lớn nhất hẳn phải là Blade Runner 2049, nhận được các đề cử bao gồm cả Đạo diễn xuất sắc nhất dành cho Denis Villeneuve. Phim nhận được 8 đề cử tất cả, ngang bằng với Dunkirk của Christopher Nolan. Hai bộ phim này đang cạnh tranh số lượng giải về kỹ thuật, bao gồm Quay phim xuất sắc nhất, Biên tập xuất sắc nhất, Âm thanh xuất sắc nhất và Hiệu ứng hình ảnh xuất sắc nhất.
