The Shape of Water chiến thắng tại Critics' Choice Awards

Mùa giải thưởng tiếp tục nóng lên với lễ trao giải Critics' Choice Awards và lần này đến lượt The Shape of Water lên ngôi. Bộ phim kể về tình yêu giữa cô nàng lao công câm cùng chàng quái vật ở thập niên 60 và được phát hành tại Việt Nam từ ngày 02/02/2018 với tựa tiếng Việt là Người Đẹp và Thủy Quái. 

Khi đề cử Critics' Choice Awards được công bố, nhiều người đã nói về chiến thắng của The Shape of Water khi bộ phim của Guillermo del Toro nhận 14 đề cử trong đó có hầu hết các đề cử quan trọng và 3 đề cử diễn xuất. Bộ phim giành tổng cộng 4 chiến thắng bao gồm phim hay nhất, đạo diễn xuất sắc nhất, thiết kế sản xuất xuất sắc nhất và nhạc phim hay nhất. Trước đó tại lễ trao giải Quả Cầu Vàng vừa rồi, đạo diễn Gullermo del Toro và nhà soạn nhạc Alexandre Desplat cũng giành được chiến thắng tương tự. 

Các hạng mục diễn cũng cho kết quả tương đồng với Quả Cầu Vàng khi lần lượt gọi tên Gary Oldman phim Darkest Hour (nam chính), Frances McDormand phim Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (nữ chính), Sam Rockwell phim ThreeBillboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (nam phụ) và Aliison Janney phim I, Tonya (nữ phụ).
